FAW Sees Remarkable Growth in Overseas Markets

FAW Group Corporation (FAW) announced its Jan.-Aug. overseas sales hit a new high at 86,000 vehicles, representing a 71% increase from a year ago.  

In August 2024, 165 Hongqi vehicles were exported to Europe by the China-Europe freight train.

Currently, FAW Hongqi's overseas business covers 28 countries and regions, including Europe, the Middle East and Southeast Asia, and operates 128 stores around the world.

This year, FAW Hongqi officially announced its foray into Germany and France markets, and achieved important milestone results in introducing core products and shaping the brand image in the high-end markets.

In February, FAW forged partnership with VOGUE and became the official partner of the renowned fashion magazine after Rolls-Royce and Audi.

In June, Hongqi delivered full-sized electric SUV E-HS9 to Frankfurt Airport as VIP transportation vehicles.

In July, Hongqi showcased EH7, EHS7, E-HS9 models at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, which attracting crowds of local visitors and receiving positive responses.

Hongqi brand has also actively participated in the international events to provide transportation services.

During the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games period, Hongqi continued to promote strategic cooperation with the State General Administration of Sport, providing efficient mobility services with its E-HS9 models for the Chinese Olympic Delegation in Paris.

Moreover, as official vehicles for large-scale international events, Hongqi brand is offering mobility services for the ongoing Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) Beijing Summit. 620 Hongqi vehicles, including the C+ class luxury flagship sedan H9, the all-new luxury MPV HQ9, and the luxury bus GUOYUE, will serve the diplomatic event with its outstanding performance.

In March 2024, Bestune brand, the wholly-owned passenger car brand of FAW Group, held a grand launch ceremony in Mexico City, officially entering the Mexican market.

This year, FAW Bestune has established 9 overseas agencies and 13 franchised stores, and upgraded its 28 stores. Thanks to these efforts, Bestune has made breakthroughs in the NEV sales in Middle East, Latin America and Eastern Europe, and other overseas markets. 

FAW Bestune has also realized scale export of the Bestune NAT and the Bestune Xiaoma for the first time this year.

21 Jiefang JH6 tractors were exported to Zambia

FAW Jiefang, the commercial vehicle segment of FAW Group, has exported its commercial vehicles to more than 80 countries and regions, including Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Latin America, Africa, and Eastern Europe. It now has 100 plus key dealers and over 200 service providers in more than 40 countries and regions.

In July, FAW Jiefang announced to sign cooperative MOU with Indonesian famous logistic corporation to export 1,200 heavy-duty trucks.

Since the two parties teamed up in 2022, FAW Jiefang has actively responded to the demands of the client and provided tailored and high-quality services in terms of product development, financing and credit support and after-sales. To date, FAW Jiefang has delivered 600 heavy-duty trucks to the logistics group.  

Moreover, FAW Jiefang has established a wholly owned subsidiary to operate international businesses of commercial vehicles, with an aim to integrate overseas business and enhance its profitability.

Guided by the Belt and Road Initiative, with the goal of building itself into a world-class enterprise, FAW has worked actively to expand its overseas presence of its three major homegrown brands – Hongqi, Bestune and Jiefang. To date, FAW’s overseas business has covered 87 countries and regions, including Europe, Africa, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Latin America, with over 160 first-level dealers around the world. A total of 21 CKD production bases were established in South Africa, Tanzania, Mexico and other countries and regions.
