FAW Jiefang, the commercial vehicle arm of FAW Group, announced that its 6DV super factory has officially gone into operation in Dalian, northeast China’s Liaoning province on December 5. Its first hydrogen engine, the CA6HV3, was also unveiled on the same day.
FAW Jiefang 6DV super factory started construction in July 2022, with a total investment of 620 million yuan and an annual production capacity of 50,000 engines. It utilizes green and energy-saving technologies and reduces carbon emissions by 9,249.54 tonnes and hazardous waste emissions by 106.5 tonnes every year.
CA6HV3 hydrogen engine is capable of achieving zero carbon emissions and independently-developed by FAW Jiefang. It is the first direct-injection hydrogen engine for heavy commercial truck in China. Its engine thermal efficiency takes the lead in China, and its B10 life plays a leading role in auto industry.
