FAW Group Sees Strong Sales Performance with 762,000 Vehicle in Q1

In the first three months of 2025, FAW Group sold 762,000 vehicles, marking a year-on-year increase of 2.5 percent, and produced 776,000 vehicles, up 4.8 percent from the same period last year. Of the total, sales of FAW Group’s self-owned brands reached 223,000 units, a 7.4 percent year-on-year growth, while sales of its NEVs under self-owned brands soared by 152 percent to 59,000 units. Sales of its joint venture brands stood at 539,000 units, maintaining its leading position in the joint venture segment. FAW Group achieved a strong start to the year by making all-round efforts in product innovation, digital and intelligent empowerment, green development, open cooperation, and overseas expansion, striving to be a front-runner in promoting high-quality self-reliance in science and technology, building a modern industrial system and fostering new quality productive forces.

FAW Group focused on meeting the diverse needs of users by pooling high-quality resources to accelerate product iteration and launch bestsellers. In the first quarter, the premium Hongqi brand introduced the TianGong 08, TianGong 05, and GuoYue REEV models to the market, while opening pre-sales for TianGong 06, offering users new high-quality mobility options with leading technology and outstanding performance. FAW Jiefang, the commercial vehicle arm of FAW Group, rolled out the new JH6 and three models specifically designed for the port market, providing reliable, efficient, and precise transportation solutions for users. Bestune, a passenger vehicle brand of FAW Group, unveiled its first NEV model under the Yueyi series, the Yueyi 03, and introduced upgrades to its Pony model line. The joint ventures also contributed to the momentum, with FAW-Volkswagen launching the new Tayron L, Audi A5L and Jetta VA7, while FAW-Toyota presented its Prado flagship VX edition and upgraded multiple models with OTA technology, offering users a more excellent intelligent mobility experience.

FAW Group has always regarded digital and intelligent transformation as a key measure to improve efficiency. Since the beginning of this year, the Lingxi smart cockpit of Hongqi Jiuzhang platform and the Bestune D-life 6.0 cockpit platform had been deeply integrated with DeepSeek, bringing users a new intelligent cockpit ecosystem. The construction of FAW Group's OTD (order-to-delivery) cloud product chain had officially commenced, providing strong support for achieving the Hongqi brand's goal of selling one million vehicles. FAW Jiefang J7 Intelligent Plant has achieved deep integration of manufacturing technology and digital intelligence technology, and has been selected as one of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s first batch of excellence-level smart factories

FAW Group deeply promoted the quality improvement and expansion of its NEV product lineup and strive to create outstanding products. In the first quarter, sales of NEVs under Hongqi brand exceeded 22,000 units, a 43.8 percent year-on-year increase. Jiefang brand deeply implemented the "All in" NEV strategic deployment, accelerated the layout of light commercial vehicle business, and achieved NEV sales of 8,467 units. Bestune brand continued to deepen its presence in the NEV market by officially launching the Bestune Yueyi series, with the first model, Yueyi 03, hitting the market.

In 2025, FAW Group has continued to deepen strategic cooperation to inject strong momentum into the rapid development of strategic emerging industries. Since the beginning of this year, FAW Group has launched strategic cooperation with China Logistics, China Baowu, China Telecom, Chinalco Group, the Liaoyuan Municipal People’s Government and Leapmotor, to jointly promote the development of industries such as NEVs. It has also deepened strategic cooperation with the Volkswagen Group to jointly determine the new model planning for FAW-Volkswagen, further enriching its product lineup and setting a new benchmark for joint ventures. FAW Jiefang has partnered with CATL to promote the comprehensive electrification of the transportation industry and signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Gaolaozhuang New Energy Technology for 5,000 pairs of NEV combination vehicle to jointly explore new scenarios for green logistics. FAW Bestune has signed an annual procurement agreement for 10,777 units with HuashengHaoche, continuously exploring new paths in automotive marketing, and has deepened cooperation with Horizon Robotics to jointly build a new ecosystem for intelligent driving.

FAW Group has seized the significant opportunities presented by the Belt and Road Initiative to vigorously expand its overseas markets. In the first quarter, FAW Group's cumulative vehicle exports reached 28,000 units, a 4.4 percent year-on-year increase. Hongqi brand has steadily accelerated its global layout, with multiple models entering markets such as Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain, continuously expanding its influence in overseas markets. Jiefang brand has successfully entered the Australian market and deepened its strategic cooperation with GMM in Indonesia, with the sales of Tiger VH all-wheel-drive dump truck exceeding 2,000 units in Vietnam. The Bestune brand has successively passed two major international quality system certifications, providing strong support for its products to be exported overseas.
